Learn More About the Russian River Telemetry Study in a Video Featuring Local Farmers!

How can real-time water data help balance the needs of agriculture, communities, and the environment? A new video introduces the Russian River Telemetry Study, a first-of-its-kind project testing watershed-scale telemetry to improve water management and reduce reporting burdens for farmers. The video features perspectives from local landowners, water managers, and state officials on why better data are essential to the Russian River's future. The Russian River Telemetry Study is led by the Telemetry Research Unit at the California State Water Resources Control Board, with support from the California Water Data Consortium, Balance Hydrologics, and local partners. To learn more about the Consortium’s role in the project, visit cawaterdata.org/telemetry.

CA Water Data Consortium - Digital Tools for Climate-Resilient Rural Communities
Wednesday, March 11, 2026 | 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. | Virtual | Register Now
Across the globe, rural communities facing compounding climate pressures need more than data — they need tools that put that data to work. On March 11, Dr. Aaditeshwar Seth joins us live from New Delhi to share how the CoRE Stack (Commoning for Resilience and Equality) is doing exactly that: empowering communities to track landscape change, advocate for natural resource management, and build long-term climate resilience
This special Data for Breakfast session offers valuable lessons for anyone working at the intersection of water data, community engagement, and climate resilience — with particular relevance to groundwater modeling, biodiversity monitoring, and forest ecosystem work here in California and beyond.
California Natural Resources Agency Hosts Discussion on Cutting Green Tape Webinar Thursday, March 12, 2026; from noon to 1 p.m.
Restoring Our Environment to Protect People and Nature
California is a global biodiversity hotspot on the front lines of climate change. Extreme events threaten our communities and ecosystems at an increasing pace. In response, we’re moving faster to strengthen the resilience of landscapes and waterways, protect people from climate impacts, and safeguard fish and wildlife.
Join us to evaluate our progress “Cutting Green Tape” to deliver environmental projects and hear from state leaders about what comes next. Link to registration Link to Secretary speaker series page
